Obituary

Paul Smith, Jr. was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and was the youngest of four children (Eve Theresa, the late Clark Joseph and Calvin Vincent), born to the late Paul and Leona Smith, Sr.
He graduated from (Clark High School) and Dillard University, Summa Cum Laude. Paul worked for International Business Machines (IBM) for 28 years as a field service engineer who installed, maintained and upgraded mainframe computer systems.
Paul was the beloved husband of Adele Marie Williams Smith for over 53 years. Their union produced four children, the late Stephanie Anne Smith, Paul Smith, III, Cheryl Lynne Smith Fitzgerald and Glenn Christopher Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife Adele, children Paul, Cheryl and Glenn, sister Eve Dalmas, sisters-in-law Ruth Smith, Marcell Watson and Linda Williams, brother-in-law Eugene Dalmas, daughter-in-laws Kelli and Shanae Smith, son-in-law Larry Fitzgerald, grandchildren Ashley Aryn Krystin Katrice, Ryan Paul, Kaitlyn Christine , Jason Matthew and Brandon Taylor Smith, Kayla Lauren Fitzgerald and Shantoi Monet Wilson, nieces Leona Claudette and La Marriol Smith and Anika and Katina McCarty, nephews Walter Reeves, Clark, Carl and Carlos Smith, Zuri McCarty and Brison Williams, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
Paul is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He cherished time spent with his family. He enjoyed sports, playing cards and the piano, horse racing, helping others and ushering at St. Eugene's Church.
He touched the lives of many people with his beautiful smile, twinkling eyes, wonderful personality and generosity. Paul's love and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
