Robert Sander Holverson Senior passed away peacefully in his cherished home of almost 50 years, in the Hollywood Riviera, on the morning of February 29. He was born in Neenah, Wisconsin on March 27, 1927. He would have been 85 years old this month. Dad proudly served in the Army during World War II. His deep spiritual and religious faith dictated how he lived his life. He was blessed with many dear friends, especially his Wednesday poker group. Dad also enjoyed playing horseshoes and golf with his Manhattan Beach buddies. He was always a proud member of the Sons of Norway, and took great pride in his Norwegian and Icelandic heritage. "Uff Da !" Dad loved spending time at his cabin in Moonridge, which is the nicest part of Big Bear, Dad would say. Dad was a devoted husband to his wife Mary Ann, who has preceded him in death in 1994. He also was a devoted father to: Chris, Ann, Bobby, Kristin and Trish. In addition, he was a proud and wonderful Grandpa to: Brennan, Eric, Ryan, Alex, Katherine, Connor, Bobby and Mitch. Dad was a respected and loved coach, not only by his sons, but by all the players that were fortunate enough to be on his Little League and AYSO teams. We also have to mention Dad's faithful cat Lucky, who would patiently greet him at the door after a fun day of poker, golf or horseshoes with his buddies. We love and miss you, Dad. Please continue to guide us each and every day. Selfishly, we wish you were still here with us, but at least we know you are together again with Mom. Funeral Mass Saturday, March 3, 9:00 am at St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach. Reception immediately following at Dad's home.
